I haven’t included everything, just the things I thought might be of interest.
A big THANKS to everyone who filled it in – I’m very grateful!
It’s a big help to me in understanding the audience for the blog and in planning the future direction.

How did people hear about JonnyMatthew.com?…

Source referral pie chart...
Despite the growing hegemony of the internet in general and social media in particular, it is still direct contact that triggered most people to discover the site.
The top referral sources being:

  • A training event
  • A friend’s recommendation

Ideas for future content:

There was an option for folk to suggest things they’d like the blog to address. I’ve already responded to a couple of these in recent posts.
Here are some of the other suggestions:

  • Attachment, neuro-developmental disorders and LAC
  • Foetal Alcohol syndrome and prenatal impact of maternal substance misuse
  • Outcomes for sexually abused children
  • Fostering resilience in residential settings
  • Helping young people when sex offences are pending – victim/offender perspectives
  • Helping teenagers manage mental illness
  • The right kind of supervision and support for professionals dealing with troubled young people
  • Lack of mental health provision for young people in Wales
  • Teens brought up by grandparents

So, plenty to be going on with, then! Please let me know if there are other areas that come to mind. Or indeed if you’d like to submit a short piece on any relevant subject for consideration as a guest post.

Final thought…

I’m delighted with how the site is working out – particularly the positive feed back from people who’ve been helped by it. That’s what it’s all about!

In the last year we’ve had almost 14, 000 sessions, 9300 unique users and over 42,000 page views. Best of all is that 325 of you have chosen to subscribe for the twice weekly emails of these blog posts – you are the core audience.

Thanks again to everyone who took to the time to complete the short survey – it really is a great source of information! Thanks also for your comments, questions and back-channel emails. They are great source of inspiration and challenge.

Here’s to another good year!
