Well, the festivities are over and we’re off the starting line for another year.
Knowing how hard you all work and what a tough job caring for troubled kids can be, I thought I’d make this first blog post about that…
Why your first job this year is you!
Because we are caring people – if we weren’t, we wouldn’t be in the job – we have a tendency to neglect ourselves.
I know this from bitter personal experience.
So, if we’re to make this year a success, we must address this issue. But how can we make time for ourselves when everything and everyone else is so demanding?
Over the last couple of years I’ve written quite a bit on self-care.
I’ve now pulled this thinking together into one short e-Book (it’s about 5500 words long).

Not only that, but your team or other colleagues will suffer if you can’t keep working to your full potential.

Like me, you’re probably already feeling the pressure starting to mount as you start back at work.
The most challenging child or young person you’re helping right now, will be better helped if you look after yourself first.
Why wait? Start as you mean to go on. Take a practical step towards doing a better job. And feel better doing it!
